The United Explorer card was recently “refreshed” and, as part of the update, the card now features a $60 annual rideshare credit, paid out as a $5 per month credit. Note that in order to receive the rideshare credit on the United Explorer card, you need to opt-in every year (while instructions online say that you can opt-in on the app, I called the number on the back of the card to opt-in).

While this isn’t my favorite card benefit — mainly because the United Explorer card only earns 1 point for every $1 spent on rideshare, meaning I have to go out of my way to remember to use the card for a single trip each month — it’s still free money that I’d like to take advantage of when I can.
With that, I’ve used the benefit twice now and on two different rideshares (Uber and Lyft), and I’m happy to report that both times the $5 rideshare credit posted the same day that my card was charged for the ride.

So while this benefit still isn’t my favorite, and your mileage may vary in how soon the credit posts to your account, I am happy with how quickly the United Explorer rideshare credit has posted to my account so far and hope this remains true for as long as the credit is a feature on the card.

Another data point – same for me on March 30th. It posted on the same day the Lyft charge posted.
