According to a post on X by Ishrion Aviation and as reported by a few sources, Air India received its Air Carrier Operating Permit (ACOP) permit to fly to/from Los Angeles, California on December 9, 2024.
While Air India often gets some pretty harsh reviews, as a Los Angeles-based travel, I still think it’d be great to have this flight as an option and it would make more likely to visit India in the near future. Notably, Air India added Los Angeles to its route map in early 2024, further showing the airline’s intention to fly to Los Angeles.
It’s likely the flight would be between Delhi and Los Angeles, which would clock in at more than 15 hours — so it’s not for the faint of heart.
I’ll be on the lookout for additional updates about Air India’s Los Angeles plans, but I wanted to share the news as the flight seems very likely given the issuance of the ACOP permit.
