I’m lucky enough that for the first 4 months of 2017, I spent an entire month outside of the U.S. So far this year, I’ve already been to Belize, Colombia, Chile, the United Kingdom, and Portugal (which was my first new country for 2017, bringing my total up to 43).
For the first time since December when I took a month off from traveling, I don’t have any trips planned yet. Right now, I am enjoying being home, having a routine, and expanding my relationships in San Francisco (both professional and personal). That said, I’m feeling an itch to explore, so I wanted to share my travel goals for the rest of 2017 (note: it’s unlikely I’ll achieve all of these, but I like having something to dream about it)!
The places I want to go most in 2017 are:
- Kauai
- Malaysia
- Charleston/NYC (visiting friends)
- Alaska
There’s a good chance I may go to Miami in June, as I received a ridiculous deal for an ocean-front suite at the Ritz in Key Biscayne, which I’ll blog about more later.
My biggest goal right now for 2017 is to stay in one of those on-the-water bungalows, and I’m hoping to do this in Malaysia. Because WiFi is likely going to be spotty in one of those locations, I am probably going to hold out until Thanksgiving for this, which is the easiest time to “escape” from work for a bit.
What are your travel goals for 2017?
