The U.S. Virgin Islands will give you $300 to spend if you visit in 2017

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Denmark transferring control of the Virgin Islands to the U.S., known as Transfer Day, the U.S. Virgin Islands is giving $300 in spending credits to visitors for travel in 2017.

The spending credits are limited to those staying at least 3 nights and to historical/cultural tours and activities. To redeem these credits, visit the U.S. Virgin Island’s official website.

The credits are accepted at close to 30 hotels across St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John. I’ve stayed at 2 of the hotels that accept these credits, the Frenchman’s Reef Marriott Resort and Galleon House (pictures I took at the Frenchman’s Reef Marriott Resort are below).

Even without the credits, the U.S. Virgin Islands are always worth visiting, with some of the best beaches in America.
